A brief recap of the trip:
🔔 7 flights
🔔 2 countries
🔔 10 cities, including 3 capitals
🔔 180 nautical miles on a sailboat
🔔 ♾ endless impressions
The vacation flew by in the blink of an eye—just as an ideal getaway should.
The key ingredients of its success:
✅ The indescribable beauty of Norwegian 🇳🇴 landscapes
✅ The romance of yachting
✅ The warm, soulful company across our entire flotilla
On the route from Svolvær to Tromsø, we were lucky enough to marvel at fjords and waterfalls, experience the playful antics of trolls, feel the unpredictable whims of the North Atlantic, and dust off skipper credentials by brushing up on both theory and practice. On top of that, we played Mafia, spent hours in engaging conversations learning about Russian maritime traditions, travels through France, expeditions to Svalbard, time-lapse videography, and so much more…
A huge thank you to the 3 boat captains and the entire team at regattaforfriends.com led by Sergey Sinitsyn for the seamless organization and a mountain of incredible memories, for the warm welcome and sunshine, and to all the crew members for their tact, teamwork, and great spirits throughout the journey—I’d set sail into any storm with this crew 😉
P.S. The guys at regattaforfriends.com made me envy today’s kids with their stories about the children’s Friendly Regatta—a massive standalone project in its own right. It’s a format where families can not only spend quality time together, but also learn the ropes of sailing while younger crew members enjoy quests, celebrations, engaging challenges, and themed parties.
